About: Barry
Barry has amassed a varied background over his 30 working years including, Retail, Manufacturing, Warehousing, The Silicon Wafer Industry, Transport & Distribution, and some 16 years of IT Support in varying roles. This background allows him to look at systems from the business aspect and assess where they can be improved, making a valid business case for doing so.It all started back when Personal Computers were of the Sinclair ZX-81 variety, no more than pocket calculators by today's standards and Business Systems took the space of a large chest freezer, Haven't things changed!.
Working as a Distribution Supervisor for a Large Multi-National, he found he could make the IBM System 32 produce reports etc, that the in house IT Dept couldn't, when noticed by the IT Director, Barry was seconded to the IT Dept, where he was trained and from that point has never looked back. His novel approach to problem solving, has had him developing various bespoke applications for business's, even to liaising with Bank's developers regarding security in the early days of online banking.
During his IT Career, Barry has supported Lords and Celebrities, which has allowed him to work in some very prestigious locations.
Now a Director of UK Computing Limited, he uses the knowledge he has gained over the years to aid in the smooth running of the companies' clients systems.
